Councillor Phillip King has described the upcoming LeicestershireLive Business Awards as “an opportunity to build confidence, encourage feedback and provide a nurturing environment” ahead of Harborough District Council’s sponsorship of the event.
The local authority, whose HQ is based in Market Harborough, has recently been announced as Event Partners of the awards which will return to the region in April.
As a council at the heart of Leicestershire, they were keen to come on board with this year’s awards.
Councillor Phillip King explained why they decided to come on board with the awards.
“These awards are a great way to showcase our amazing businesses and the tantalising opportunities available in our district. We have invested in the Harborough Innovation Centre and recently the Harborough Grow-on Centre, which is soon to open, which create opportunities for local entrepreneurs to develop and grow; we are seeing successes and want to see more,” he said.
“Winning an award not only allows a business to be recognised for their success over the last 12 months, but it also allows them to celebrate their success with their staff, family and friends, share their story and be an inspiration to others.”
Welcoming companies of all sizes and from a variety of sectors, the awards also provide the chance for invaluable networking opportunities.
Phillip went on to talk about just how the awards help with this networking.
“In Harborough we have an incredible range of large, medium and small businesses right across the district. The LeicestershireLive Business Awards provides an opportunity to share and learn with others from across the region. It is also an opportunity for our businesses to refine their business offer and for us to provide first-hand connections which for many will be incredibly valuable,” he said.
“These opportunities help to build confidence, provide encouraging feedback and a nurturing environment for all businesses.”
Once again the Maher Centre will play host to this year’s awards with 15 coveted categories up for grabs.
