NEW AWARD

Regional awards announce Futures for Business as latest sponsor

As nominations draw to a close ahead of this month’s LeicestershireLive Business Awards, another business has been announced as a category sponsor for the annual event.

Futures for Business help companies to grow, thrive and succeed with training, apprenticeships and recruitment solutions that meet the needs of people and businesses.

The business provides tailored programmes which are designed to get the best out of the talent companies have at their disposal with the ultimate goal being to create a skilled and motivated workforce.

As the Leicestershire Live Business Awards return to the region, Futures will appropriately be showing its support to the ‘Excellence in Training and Development’ award. This category recognises businesses who realise the importance of training and developing their staff and will have evidence of ways in which these techniques has enhanced an individual, team or customer.

Sandra Cowley is the company’s Commercial Director and she explained why they made the decision to come on board as a category sponsor.

“At Futures for Business we deliver bespoke workforce development solutions, so we know that staff training and development isn’t just important, it's vital,” she said.

“So, it's really key to recognise and celebrate businesses who are leading in this area. Creating a culture of development and learning plays a big part in the success of a business.”

As category sponsors it will be the responsibility of Futures for Business to decide on the award’s three finalists and eventual winner and Sandra highlighted what she will be looking for during the judging process.

“We're looking for a business that challenges and excites their staff and inspires them towards personal growth. But it’s also about having a structured training programme to ensure all employees, not just some, have a consistent level of development.”

She continued: “The world of employment is becoming increasingly competitive, recruiting and retaining the best people is something you have to be on top of. Developing the talent you have and providing opportunities for new recruits, by investing in their development, you'll continue to reap the benefits.”

The LeicestershireLive Business Awards will take place in April at the Maher Centre, one of the city’s premier event venues. Here businesses of all sizes and from a number of sectors will have the spotlight shone on them in a night that has become a key part of the regional business calendar. Guests will be welcomed with a Champagne reception before enjoying a three-course meal ahead of the prize giving.
