The LeicestershireLive Business Awards are back in April and will see more of the region’s biggest businesses go head-to-head to be crowned the best.
With 15 coveted awards up for grabs competition is always high at the ceremony which honours companies of all sizes and from a number of sectors.
The awards look at some of the standout performers in the regional business community from the last 12 months and the event also has a number of high-profile sponsors.
This includes De Montfort University who has played a big part in local business since its inception in 1870. One of the country’s most prestigious universities, over the years they have seen millions of students come through its doors, many of which have gone on to provide a huge contribution to local business.
Heather Mclaughlin is the Dean/PVC of the Faculty of Business and Law at the university and explained why they decided to become a Headline Sponsor.
“Here at De Montfort University we have been a part of the Leicestershire Live Business Awards since the beginning. They are a chance to celebrate some of the incredible businesses who work with us and meet new contacts, not to mention an excellent networking opportunity,” she said.
“Our connection with local business continues through our research and development work, our links with start-ups and entrepreneurs and as a champion for Leicester itself and the benefits of living, working and studying here.”
As well as rewarding people for their ongoing business success they also celebrate success on a wider scale.
Heather explained more.
“Leicestershire’s businesses have much to be proud of. These awards celebrate and champion the talent, innovation and creativity that they demonstrate every day,” she said.
“This is a great time to be in business in Leicester. The city has a newfound sense of pride about itself and has been named as one of the best places in the country to do business, it is a natural home for the UK’s creative economy and tech start-ups.”
